The European Commission unveiled its International Digital Strategy for the EU, outlining a roadmap to reinforce the EU’s position as a global digital leader. The European Tech Alliance (EUTA) welcomes this ambitious vision and calls on the Commission to ensure that political commitments are translated into concrete, actionable measures that empower European tech companies to grow within the single market and beyond.
The strategy identifies a wide range of priorities, including the expansion of Digital Partnerships, enhanced digital trade frameworks, and the promotion of European values in global digital governance. EUTA particularly welcomes initiatives which can help unlock international opportunities for European innovators while strengthening the European leadership on digital standards and innovation.
It’s encouraging to see that the DSA and DMA are outlined in the European Commission’s international partnerships. It is a strong and clear signal that any company, European or international, operating in the Single Market must uphold European standards and rules, with enforcement set to follow.
The following can be attributed to EUTA’s Secretary General, Victoria de Posson
“The strategy is a good step, but now the EU must deliver”.
“Simplifying compliance and aligning global rules with EU frameworks is key to helping European tech scale internationally”.
