The European Tech Alliance (EUTA) today announced that Adyen is joining as its newest member, further strengthening the Alliance’s community of European and Europe-rooted technology companies.
Founded in Amsterdam in 2006, Adyen is the complete financial operating system for modern commerce, providing leading enterprise solutions across payments, loyalty, billing, and money movement. The company holds banking licenses in the EU, UK, and US, and runs a fully proprietary technology stack powered by insights from trillions of euros in transaction data. Partnering with brands including Meta, Microsoft, Uber, Netflix, Spotify, and H&M, Adyen simplifies complex commerce globally.
The following can be attributed to EUTA’s Secretary General, Victoria de Posson:
“We are delighted to welcome Adyen to the European Tech Alliance. Adyen is exactly the kind of success story Europe should be building on: founded in Amsterdam, scaled across the Single Market, and today the payments partner of choice for some of the world’s best-known brands, all from technology built in Europe.”
“Adyen’s experience shows what European companies can achieve when rules are clear, proportionate and designed for growth, and it brings the Alliance valuable expertise as Europe shapes the future of payments and digital finance.”
The following can be attributed to Adyen’s co-founder and co-CEO, Pieter van der Does:
“We built Adyen as a global company that scaled from Europe. The talent and ambition are here to build many more global technology leaders, but companies founded here need a level playing field to compete globally. A stronger Single Market, clear and proportionate rules that don’t hold us back globally, and less unnecessary complexity are essential to strengthening Europe’s tech competitiveness. Companies should scale on the strength of what they build, not be held back by where they’re based. By joining the European Tech Alliance, we want to work with like-minded companies to help create those conditions and build a stronger European technology industry.”
