EUTA Renewed President and Chair | Gianpiero Lotito and Magdalena Piech to continue leadership of EUTA for 2020

The European Tech Alliance (EUTA) has the pleasure of announcing the appointment of our President and Chair for 2020. FacilityLive’s Gianpiero Lotito has been re-confirmed, as President of the EUTA, and Allegro’s Magdalena Piech, PhD will be continuing her role as Chair.

Gianpiero welcomed the EUTA membership’s support for his continued role as President. He thanked members for their work this year and reminded us that “the world needs a strong Europe in digital to be balanced”. Gianpiero is Founder and CEO of FacilityLive and an adjunct Professor in Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Pavia. This year, Gianpiero has represented the EUTA at many high-level international events, bilateral meetings with Vice-presidents and Commissioners, stakeholder meetings in various EU Institutions and in global media, growing the reach and awareness of the Alliance.

The EUTA’s re-appointed Chair, Magdalena said: “I am delighted to continue to serve our members as chair of the European Tech Alliance and grateful for the confidence in our common vision for the future. 2020 will be a keystone year for policymakers and industry to chart a course towards a digital policy for consumers, for startups and scaleups, and for boosting our digital economy.” Magdalena is Head of Regulatory Affairs for Allegro and, as Chair, she has continued to share her vital expertise with members.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank both Gianpiero and Magda for their work which has led to many successes for the EUTA throughout 2019, including leading on the publication of our common vision Europe’s Tech Vision 5 Years From Now; the EUTA’s storybook; and of our promotional video, all three available on the EUTA’s website.

As the new European Commission enters office, we hope to maintain our relationships with policymakers as the point of reference and centre of knowledge for European tech. With ambitious aims for the coming year, our President, Chair, and Members look forward to continuing our work to promote the EUTA as a platform for exchange and knowledge sharing in the Europe and beyond.
